“Alessandro Volta” secondary school
In an effort to enrich student learning, a number of machines from the Laboratories of Tecnoambiente, a Riccoboni Holding company, were presented at the “Alessandro Volta” secondary school in Alessandria and donated to the school.
In particular, students from the Chemistry, Materials and Biotechnologies programme of the Industrial Technical section of the school were the recipients of an ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) instrument with optical detection (ICP-OES). This special machine is used in instrumental inorganic analytical chemistry for determination of metals in real-life matrices (soil, water and so on).
Taking part at the event were Maria Elena Dealessi, “Alessandro Volta” school principal; professor Giorgio Laganà, head of the chemistry and biology department; Michele Bellandi, managing director of Riccoboni Group’s Grassano Spa; Jessica De Martini, lab technician at Tecnoambiente srl; and Valentina Pizzo, expert biologist from Alessandria Hospital’s DAIRI sequencing laboratory, which recently won the first Riccoboni award for research into environmental pathologies.
“Riccoboni Holding’s focus is on actively contributing to social and environmental transformation processes that foster the creation of new resources for welfare, the implementation of active labour market policies, health promotion and urban regeneration”, said Michele Bellandi, Managing Director of Grassano Spa.
Riccoboni Holding serves as a valuable reference for students when it comes to knowledge transfer in the field of waste management and advocating legal standards to ensure the safety of the community. Riccoboni Holding and the “Alessandro Volta” school have successfully implemented a powerful collaboration that, through tangible efforts, has resulted in the expansion of the school’s well-equipped instrumental chemistry laboratory and ignited students’ interest in studying environmental protection.
