After the audit by certifying body Rina, Riccoboni SpA was certified to UNI CEI EN ISO 50001:2018. The international standard is recognised as the most advanced for energy management systems and allows organisations to be supported by concrete goals when defining management policies.
ISO 50001 marks another milestone in Riccoboni SpA’s quest to improve its energy performance and upholds the company’s ethical commitment to pursue greater energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of its processes.
The energy standard complements and is integrated within the other three certifications held by Riccoboni SpA: quality management system to UNI EN ISO 9001, occupational health and safety management system to UNI ISO 45001, and environmental management system to UNI EN ISO 14001.
In applying the energy standard, Riccoboni SpA’s primary goal is to increasingly implement a systematic approach to all processes. Underlying the energy management policies of the near future will be the continuous improvement of the energy performance indicators (EnPI), for greater energy efficiency and sustainability.
At a time like this, when the European Union has its sights on becoming climate-neutral by 2050 and reducing energy use from fossil fuels is now highest on the list of priorities to limit the continent’s reliance on these energy sources, Riccoboni SpA’s ISO 50001 certification is a clear sign of the company’s willingness to ensure its management efficiency measures up to today’s benchmarks for smart and responsible use of energy.
Riccoboni SpA’s Energy Management System applies to the company’s two units – the Parma Headquarters and the non-hazardous waste disposal facility at Cascina Borio in Sezzadio (Alessandria) – and relates to the following activities: Global Services, coordination in the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, environmental remediation and restoration, construction of waste disposal plants, construction and management of non-hazardous waste disposal plants, and waste brokerage.
