THE RICCOBONI GROUP JOINS PINK OCTOBER & BLUE NOVEMBER
MONTHS DEDICATED TO CANCER PREVENTION
MONTHS DEDICATED TO CANCER PREVENTION
PRESS RELEASE
A Mobile Clinic will visit all the Riccoboni Group’s offices and the main worksites
The Riccoboni Group, a leader in the sector of integrated environmental management, in the treatment and disposal of special waste, and in contaminant remediation, is joining #PinkOctober and #BlueNovember 2023, two months dedicated to preventing men’s and women’s cancers.
During the weeks of 23 to 27 October and 13 to 17 November, a Mobile Clinic will visit all the Riccoboni Group’s offices and the main worksites, providing free on-site screening so employees can save time and avoid red tape.
The Castellazzo Bormida per il Sociale mobile clinic is a specially fitted camper van, containing two doctor’s offices, toilet facilities and a space set up as a fully equipped office. The clinic is fitted with high-level medical equipment, connected to a centralised IT system to manage archives and all the screening activities that will be carried out.
Women will be offered a breast cancer check-up including an ultrasound scan, which allows for early diagnosis of breast cancer. While a blood sample will be taken from men to measure their PSA level and an ultrasound scan will be carried out. This type of test helps detect any potential liver, pancreas, spleen, kidney and bladder cancers.
To date, over 71% of people who work at the Group’s companies have joined this initiative. A significant 31.18% of employees, who will be checked at the mobile clinic, fall within the 41 to 50 years age bracket. A considerable number of people also signed up for a check-up in the 31 to 40 years age bracket, with over 29%, while it reached almost 24% for 51 to 60 year-olds. The figure for 20 to 30 year-olds is 11.76% and 4.12% for the over 60s, which is to be expected as there are fewer employees in these age brackets.
The mobile clinic’s tour of Italy will start from the Riccoboni Group’s Parma office on 23 October, then over the next few days it will head to Ravenna, San Benedetto del Tronto and Ostuni at the Riccoboni Group’s Ecoimpresa office, before continuing on to Rome, Grosseto and finally finishing in the province of Alessandria in Predosa where Grassano, another one of the Group’s companies, is based.
“The initiative adopted by our company to play our part in the months dedicated to cancer prevention falls within our company welfare activities, with the specific goal of looking after our people”, emphasised Angelo Riccoboni, the CEO of Riccoboni Holding. “In particular, this activity is aimed at protecting employees’ health and well-being, while also encouraging everyone to think about prevention as an effective tool in the fight against cancer. We believe that prevention is the most important thing we can do, i.e. saving a life, because it helps anticipate diagnosis involving better prognosis, which correlates to less invasive surgery and less aggressive cancer treatments”.
